"Electrical Engineering: Key Element for Economic Development"

Under uncertain economic times, companies look for opportunities to increase their competitiveness. Examples of such opportunities will be presented during the Industry-University Symposium on Electrical Engineering (IUSEE). There are five universities in Puerto Rico that grant Electrical Engineering degrees. These institutions actively seek collaborations with local and national companies. IUSEE will offer a unique opportunity for networking and initiating long-lasting, high impact industry-university technical partnerships. These collaborations should go beyond the traditional human resource development role of universities, and make universities a key element in the economic development of Puerto Rico. The list of speakers for IUSEE includes industry and government officials, the Electrical Engineers Institute of the CIAPR and faculty from Caribbean University, Inter American University, Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico, Turabo University, and University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez. Seven hours of continuing education have been granted to IUSEE by the CIAPR's Continuing Education Department (DDPEC).
