Water Distribution Hydraulic Model for Western Puerto Rico
The Puerto Rico Water and Environmental Research Institute in Mayaguez, along with the Puerto Rico Acueducts and Sewer Authority and the Municipality of Mayaguez, have joined to create the first operational hydraulic model in Puerto Rico, which will also include the municipalities of Añasco, Hormigueros and parts of Maricao and Las Marías. http://prwreri.uprm.edu/modelodeloeste (website in spanish)
The Colloquium on Water Quality Monitoring and Testing in Latin America, was held during October 24-25 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It's goal was to bring together representatives of all of the nations of Latin America and the Caribbean to discuss water quality issues unique to their respective countries. The University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez (UPRM) is considering the establishment of a Center of Excellence for Water Quality at the University which would work with all Latin American and Caribbean countries in the fields of education and training, as well as providing information on the latest technology available, to address issues of water quality unique to the region. http://prwreri.uprm.edu/colloquium
